Test Weeks

Good attendance and punctuality at school is always important, but it is especially important over the next 2 weeks, from:

Tuesday 3rd May - Friday 13th May

The children are completing their Standardised Assessment tests in Maths, Reading and spelling throughout the school.

The reading and Maths tests from Year 2 - Year 6 are National Assessment tests.

These are VERY important tests as they help to support the teachers assessment of the childrens progress throughout the year.

The Year 6 results are also used by the High School as a Baseline from which they group the children.

Sample tests materials to practice at home can be found online at: http://learning.wales.gov.uk/resources/numeracy-sample-materials/?lang=en

On Wednesday 20th April 2016 Mr Gunter took the St Andrews rugby team to Rogerstone Primary School to take part in a rugby tournament. We came runners up in the plate competition, beating Eveswell in the semi\'s, but losing to Mount Pleasant in the final. An excellent effort from all the boys and girls especially the number of Year 4\'s that were competing.

On Wednesday 27th April, our Year 5 girls attended Newport Junior Schools Girls Cricket Festival held at Newport Velodrome.

All the girls had a wonderful time; they learned lots of new skills.

Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers from the Sports Development Team at Newport Live who arranged the festival.

Thanks to Mr Bowen, Mr Mayers and Mrs Burgoyne-Hale who organised this event.
