EISTEDDFOD 2017
Nursery Welsh Assembly
Llongyfarchiadau to our Nursery pupils for their fantastic Eisteddfod Welsh Assemblies last Tuesday.
Main school - Wednesday 1st March
St. Andrews Primary held their third whole school Eisteddfod which ran over the course of the whole day. The children and staff looked very patriotic in traditional Welsh dress, house colours and Welsh sports kits.
The children were presented with medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for poetry, handwriting and art work completed during our whole school Welsh week. In addition, children from Year 1 to 6 represented their house in Welsh poetry and song recitals, giving them the opportunity to earn further house points. Loud cheers and beautiful singing also helped the houses top up points.
Staff were amazed by the efforts children, supported by their families, made in the homework competitions, with some masterpieces of daffodils, castles, landmarks and dragons being produced. This was a difficult task for judging.
