Head lice
Please can all parents be aware that we have had a number of cases of head lice in school.
This is a common issue across all primary schools however we would like to ask parents to check their childs hair carefully this week and if a live louse is found then please treat your child using head lice shampoo.
This can be obtained free from your doctor on prescription or be bought over the counter in any pharmacy / large supermarket.
Please continue to check your childrens hair for unwanted visitors. The children work very closely with each other and this gives head lice the chance to spread very easily. Advice and treatment of head lice can be sought from any pharmacy.
If you require individual support from the School Health Nurse please let us know and we can ask her to contact you at home.
Christmas Card Recycling Competition
Can You Help ??????????????
St. Andrews Primary School is entering a competition.
Every year Newport City Council invites schools to recycle Christmas cards and the school which collects the most cards per pupil head receive a cash prize.
We need your cards, your grandparents cards,
your neighbours cards, work colleagues cards!
Please bag up the cards in January and send them into school, if you have time to count them and write the number of cards collected on the bag, this would be helpful but if not don\'t worry, just send them in and we will count them in school.
Many thanks from the Eco-Council

If any parents have any connections with local businesses, we would appreciate any donations from such businesses for our Christmas raffles.
