Not just free school meals ……….

We notice from our records that a number of parents do not claim for their entitlement of a Free School Meal for their children.  This not only removes the opportunity for them to receive a free daily meal, but the school does not receive additional grant funding for them from the Welsh Assembly Government.  Even if you do not wish your child to have the meal, the grant funding helps us here at school to provide greater support, opportunities and enhancement of the children’s education. It is quick and easy to apply on line for the grant at www.newport.gov.uk or you can pick up a form from the school office.

If you would like some support filling in the form, please ask at the main office and a member of staff will be happy to help you.

Black Ash Park Launch Event

On Monday 13th January pupils from St. Andrew’s Primary School attended the opening of the new changing facilities at our local Black Ash Park. The launch event was a great success! Mrs Hastings, Miss Roach and Mrs Small took ten members of our Heddlu Bach, a mixed football team and two ‘Roving Radio DJ Reporters’ to the launch event.

We are looking forward to seeing these new facilities being used by our pupils in the future.
